Overview

Public correspondence serving trade union solidarity

Letters are a direct communication format used to express solidarity, denounce rights violations, congratulate progress, convey condolences or formulate an official request.

They are part of international trade union action and allow ITUC-Africa to support affiliates, workers and peoples facing crises, injustices or important moments.

Types of letters

Main correspondence formats

The letters section brings together several institutional formats used depending on the context and communication objective.

Solidarity Letters

Messages of support addressed to workers, unions, affiliates or peoples facing a difficult situation.

Protest letters

Letters protesting against violations of human rights, trade union freedoms, social rights or democratic principles.

Congratulatory Letter

Letters congratulating actors or institutions on progress or important decisions.

Message of condolences

Condolence messages expressing compassion, solidarity and support in the face of loss or tragedy.

Message of gratitude

Messages of appreciation addressed to partners, affiliates or personalities who contributed to collective action.

Memorandum & Petition

Position documents or formal requests addressed to authorities, institutions or partners.
